O.P.E.N library

We operate a lending library for books about non-monogamy. All the books are owned by the group.

Books are lent on a first-come-first-served basis and you can borrow them for as long as it takes to read them. We ask that you are a member of the Meetup group before you borrow one, so we can contact you if we don't hear from you in a while.

If you would like to donate a book, please let us know!

Polyamory in the 21st Century

Polyamory in the 21st Century (Deborah Anapol)

"Unlike other books on this topic, Polyamory in the 21st Century weaves together research and facts to provide an informed and impartial analysis of polyamory as a lifestyle and as a movement, and to place it in a psychosocial as well as an historical context. Anecdotes and personal experiences allow the reader to develop a better understanding of polyamory and the people who practice and enjoy it. Anapol addresses the practical, the utopian, and the shadow sides of this intriguing, mysterious, yet often threatening lifestyle. It honestly addresses difficult issues such as the nature of commitment without exclusivity, balancing personal needs with loyalty to a partner, evaluating beliefs about love and relationship, the impact of polyamory on children, and the challenges that arise when one partner wants monogamy and another prefers polyamory. Without judgement, she explores this increasingly common practice, and reveals the true nature of a lifestyle that many do not understand."

What Does Polyamory Look Like?

What Does Polyamory Look Like? (Mim Chapman)

"What is your relationship dream, and what options are out there to choose from? We’re familiar with monogamy, but what additional models of loving and living are offered by polyamory, and what do they look like in action? How is polyamory different from polygamy, swinging, or “cheating”? What new forms of etiquette are needed in order to nurture polys’ varied forms of family? Is it really possible to have a relationship in which love does not equal possessiveness?"

Radical Honesty (Brad Blanton)

"At once shocking, entertaining, and profound--Radical Honesty is revolutionary book that takes a fresh look at how we live, love, and attempt to heal ourselves in modern society."

Warrior Love (Roger King)

One of our members is a published author! And this is his book.

"Author Roger King asks a question we may find truly challenging: Could humanity make a huge shift in consciousness and realize we are more naturally polyamorous than monogamous? In this narrative, a vulnerable story emerges when Roger and his partner separate. With heartfelt anger, love, and wisdom, Roger unveils his inner secret, admitting he is a polyamorous man-he loves more than one woman. Roger writes with disarming honesty and offers insights that can help men and women become open and receptive to love without fear."

More Than Two (Franklin Veaux & Eve Rickert)

We were very proud to contribute towards the publishing of this new book by legendary bloggers Franklin Veaux & Eve Rickert.

"This wide-ranging resource explores the often-complex world of living polyamorously. In it the authors share not only their hard-won philosophies about polyamory, but also their hurts and embarrassments. Living poly is not always an easy road, and they hope that by reading this book, you'll avoid some of the mistakes they've made along the way."
